Go to Admin > More > API

From your Follow Up Boss dashboard, go to Admin in the top menu, then click More, then API.

Create a new API Key

Click Create API Key, name it something like Happy Grasshopper and click create. Make sure to copy your API key right away, it might not show up later.

Sign in to Happy Grasshopper

Go to Integrations

In Happy Grasshopper's left-hand menu, scroll down and click Integrations.

Connect Follow Up Boss

In the Integrations page, locate the Follow Up Boss panel and click the Connect button .

Save your API Key

Enter your API key in Happy Grasshopper and click Save.

You’re All Set!

Your Follow Up Boss contacts and tags will sync to Happy Grasshopper automatically.

  • The integration syncs all contacts or all contacts assigned to you to Happy Grasshopper from Follow Up Boss in cases where the contact has an email address
  • The integration syncs Tags (that are assigned to people in Follow Up Boss) to Happy Grasshopper. Follow Up Boss’ categorizations of “source”, “stage”, “contacted”, and “ponds” (if the pond option is turned on in Happy Grasshopper settings) all get converted to Happy Grasshopper Tags.
  • The integration syncs contact relationships in cases where the relationship has an email address. These relationships sync as individual contacts in Happy Grasshopper and have no relationship connection in Happy Grasshopper since we do not have a mechanism for tracking relationships.
  • You can now delete contacts in Happy Grasshopper if they are deleted in Follow Up Boss if the user has selected this option in their integration settings.
  • The integration shows E-mail sends and some basic reporting (delivered, open, click, bounced, unsubscribe, spam report) in Follow Up Boss. This feature was always available for Happy Grasshopper Automated Campaign Emails but it now shows for NEW Write Your Own Emails, Audience Emails, Message Type Emails. The syncs for these reporting records are not real-time and can take 15 minutes to an hour to display.
  • The integration shows Voicemail Drop sends as a log with the message “Left Voicemail” (this is what was recommended in their API docs). There is no way to display any reporting for this feature in Follow Up Boss since this feature does not map 1 to 1 between both systems.
  • The integration shows Text Message sends as a log with the body of the text message displayed in the log. There is no way to display any reporting for this feature in Follow Up Boss since this feature does not map 1 to 1 between both systems.
  • The integration shows Handwritten Card Message sends as a log with the text in the body of the card displayed in the log. There is no way to display any reporting for this feature in Follow Up Boss since this feature does not map 1 to 1 between both systems.
